How to Enroll
Small School

Both the Digital Textbook and the Basic Digital Photography Course provide the curriculum resources needed for a small school to offer photography to their students. Our experince with over 100 schools and teachers in the past 20 years has found that many schools start a photo class and find a teacher to teach it without having a plan for the course content. Many of these new teachers are experienced in some other subject and have a personal love for photography that caused them to say yes to teaching the class but that is a long ways from being confident in the content that is to be covered.  This is a complete curriculum which includes a system for assessment and grades that fits the common standards used by schools today.

The Basic Digital Photography Class or the Digital Textbook allows your school to have the confidence the material is going to provide the needed direction from basic concepts on through more advanced skills. In the Small School Edition your school provides the teacher who will then work with the SCPHOTO material as a tool. In the Basic Digital Photography version the students submit their assignments online as well as take tests and participate in an online discussion of their work with your teacher as the moderator and grader. Because there is less work for Mr. Wills in this version the cost is cut to $20 per student with a year long license available for a class that enrolls students twice during a year.

Teachers will then have access to Mr. Wills for questions or suggestions on their class at any time during the year. There is also a free "Teachers Breakroom" on the SCPHOTO site where teachers may download handouts and additional material to use in their class. The break room also allows teachers to share their questions in a Forum that all teachers belong to when their school enrolls in the program.

The Moodle software that manages the courses has the ability to group and separate content based on school needs. We can add or delete assignments, lessons, etc. to fit you own needs.

The only technical requirements are internet access and a school filter system that will allow for access to the site. We have found that some Internet Explorer browsers and settings make the login system malfunction with the site so we recommend schools move to Firefox or Safari for this class. In addition some content currently draws on material from YouTube which may need to be unblocked for this class. We are working on a cure for both of these technical issues. If you think they may present a problem to you drop us an email at keith at scphoto.com and we can see what can be worked out.
