Is this class for digital or for film based photography? The class is designed for working with digital media but the techniques used for most of the assignments and lessons apply to either film or digital. Each media has its own unique advantages and disadvantages but this class will fit the needs of either type of student. The only part of any of the course offerings that students using film cameras will not be able to work with will be the ability to turn in assignments electronically. The Digital Textbook and the Basic Photography Class each contain some basic information about darkroom photography including processing film and making prints. This photo program was developed by Instructor Keith Wills while teaching Photography and Journalism at Santa Cruz High School for over 28 years. Digital photography had not even begun in 1970 when this curriculum was created but the processes of design and camera operation have not changed much since digital. Only the process of making a print has changed (for the better) with digital. |
