Online Photo Class - blackboard.com

The SCPHOTO curriculum has an online version currently hosted at coursesites.blackboard.com. This will be moving from blackboard in August 2007.

This class is an onlne class for home school and small school students who don't have a program at their own school. Students can create their work using film and work in their own darkroom or they can complete assignments using a commercial lab to process their prints or for most students they will be using digital. In either case projects will be scanned by the student and submitted as a jpg attachement in an email to Instructor Keith Wills for evaluation just like students who took this class at SCHS did for 28 years.

Following the California standards for Visual Arts as well as nationally accepted standards for photography this class will challenge you to look at your own work and grow as a photographer. Students will complete a number of assignments in a curriculum designed to require about 90 hours of work. Students who complete the class will be given a certificate of completion with an emphasis on either black and white/ darkroom work or digital . This class will include work with a few digital photography assignments and all of the course work can be taken with a digital camera if students wish. The curriculum will work with Adobe Photoshop Elements for photo manipulation work.

Cost for this 18 week (semester) class is $100 and will include access to the online photo web site and evaluation of student projects just as if you were enrolled in a high school class in person. For schools where three or more students sign up at once the price is reduced to $75 each.
