camera3.gif Soft Focus

Find the Cokin filter holder that will fit your camera lens. Since there are only a few of these filters Santa Cruz High students will likely wish to make their own diffusion filter.

Use any one of the diffusion filters to make a soft focus look on a photo.  Do TWO  prints,  one without and one with the filters.  This is done on the camera, not in the lab.

You can also do the same effect using an old stocking over the lens or  putting vaseline on a skylight filter or using a window screen to diffuse the light.

This works best in contrasty lighting where the black and white portions of the photo blend. This will NOT work in soft light or on a subject that does not have bright highlights.
