School Curriculum for Photography
SCPHOTO is an eLearning resource for schools, home school or independent adult students to use to expand their skills in photography. Following a social constructive style of learning students interactively study and explore lessons, assignments, quizzes, forums, glossaries, wiki's and online workshops in learning experiences or courses that build the skills every professional photographer uses in their work.
NOTE: The "visitor" account is no longer active. To review the course to see how it operates and sample some of the curriculum you must first make an account and then sign up for the Preview class using an enrollment key of "free".

Accounts that are not used for more than 90 days are automatically unenrolled from their courses and will need to contact the course administrator to be reinstated. School groups are deleted every summer and must sign up again with a new PO to continue for the next school year. All subscriptions to the textbook are valid for a maximum of 1 year.
BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY
Semester / year long course in Basic Digital Photography
Designed for high school, homeschool or adult education on the basics of digital photography this course will challenge you to find and capture images using current practices and equipment. No experience is required. All you need is a digital camera and software that will let you make basic editing adjustments to exposure and composition. Each student will receive personal attention from instructor Keith Wills who has taught photography for over 28 years to over 7000 students.
Basic Photography TextbookThe "green alternative" to a paper textbook offering a resource for schools and individuals in their study of photography.
Note: This is the Basic Photography course without the interactivity, forums and grade capability.
Schools or individuals that sign up for the Basic Photography course need not enroll in the textbook as it is all contained in the Basic Photography course
Exploring Photography
Six week (12 sessions) Introduction to Digital Photography
This is an "enrichment" program for beginning photography that covers the basics of good photography and technique. Photo composition and the importance of proper exposure are stressed. This program is ideal for a club program or for teachers of other subjects that wish to add a unit on photography but need help with evaluation of student work.
Teachers Break RoomThe break room at most schools is where teachers hang out and share experiences with other teachers. In a similar way this is a free web site for any photography teacher wanting to share or discover things about teaching photography. Many photo teachers are professionals or amateurs who love to take pictures and they find themselves lost when it comes to getting students to discover that love in a class. This break room has Forums where you can ask questions and / or share things with other photography teachers.

This is a free 10 day sample of the Basic Digital Photography Curriculum which is also found in the Digital Textbook. If you are thinking about using this with your school or independent study this will give you an idea of how the class works.
