Week 15 - 18 - Conclusion of Photography Course
These projects are the end of the semester for us. A few of these projects are intended to give you a chance to be more creative and flexible in your work. These projects are more of an artistic nature and donít have any clear example to follow.
Fine Arts Projects
Mosaic Print - cut and past at least two prints to make a new print
Hand Color - taking a black and white photograph and applying color by hand
Technique Projects
Dodge and Burn - a print that needs extra attention in the darkroom to get full tones
Fill Light - using a reflector or flash to fill in the light in the shadows
Low Shutter - Use a low ASA film to allow for a shutter speed of less than 60
Panorama - putting 3 or more photographs togtether to get a wide angle of view
Composition - Demonstration of skills
Angles - the same subject from at least 3 different angles
Body Language -show how our body is used to communicate a message
Storybook - using text and pictures to communicate
Portfolio - final presentation of your work - for display - this will show others what you know and will be what you will use when you take advanced photo classes in college
Academic Work
Term Paper - doing research on a subject and presenting it in written form to others
Final Exam - Final Exam Photo - make up 10% of your TOTAL Term grade, take advantage of the time in class set up for you to study - look at the sample questions and then research answers. Santa Cruz High students should also use their free time to study the Cannon Photography Workshop CD on their work stations.
