Posed Photo Project

When the photographer takes control of the subject and directs their attention toward the camera the result is a posed photo. Notice how it causes the action to change and makes the photo more stiff. Most snap shots are like this, they don't really tell us much about the subject. For this assignment you are to go out on campus and find a subject to pose. Do not disturb class and be sure to get subject permission.

In the sample photo the photographer directed the subject to do something with action which made the shot more interesting than just standing stiff. Some thought might need to still go into subject placement and exposure. Here the bright wall on the right caused the meter to slightly under exposure the subject with the result being loss of detail in the shadows.
