The Gallery contains two sections.  The main section is the Student Gallery. Here you will find photographs turned in by Photography students at Santa Cruz High School during their 18 week photo class in 1998 - 99. Students were required to show their work in class every two weeks for critique by fellow students and by Mr. Wills.  The pictures in this gallery are some of our favorites from these pictures. 

Section two of the gallery is reserved for our instructor, Mr. Wills. He has been teaching at SCHS since 1971.  This gallery shows some of his work.  With a great love for technology and for helping others to use it this web site was created to share with beginning photographers all over the world some of the joy found in photography. 

Mr. Wills believes a teacher should be like a coach who stands on the sidelines watching the players while encouraging them to get the most out of their own abilities.  This web site is an example of how teaching involves providing the resources as well as the challenges necessary to learn something.  The photo class is a hands on class with students starting work the 2nd day of class.  Lectures and demonstrations only happen a dozen or so times during the 45 days of class. Most of what happens in this class is students working on their projects.  Web visitors can gain the same assistance by trying the projects themselves and comparing their results to the samples.
