Final Exam Photo

This photograph needs to be your best shot. It can be any negative you have taken yourself. You can go out on your own to get these outside of class if you have access to a camera or you can use negatives from your file.

 Make a good 5x7 size print with good contrast, focus, neatness, etc. Be sure that your print was washed for at least 10 to 20 minutes for this one will be kept by the school in your photo file.

 Mount this photo on the cardboard provided in class. This will NOT be mounted using rubber cement. We will ìdry mountî this photo.

 This photo will be 5% of your TERM grade so make it good. This photo will be graded by all photo students in the class during final exam week. Selected photographs will be placed on the scphoto gallery page for international viewing. All this means - - do your best! Take your time.

 DRY MOUNTING

1. Place your photo and your mount board into the dry mount press (which has be preheated to 200 degrees) face down for 45 seconds.

2. Remove from press and ìtackî dry mount tissue to the back of the photo. Tack in a diagonal on the photo.

 3. Trim the photo carefully using a sharp knife or razor blade and ruler. Keep it square. If you have the white boarder in place it will help keep the print square.

 4. Tack the photo and tissue to the front of the mount board.

5. Place into the mount press face UP with a piece of plain white paper on top for protection. Heat for 45 seconds.

6. When finished heating, remove and place under the heat sink (the heavy metal plate used to cool the print) Label the BACK of the print with your name, period and date and submit before the due date to Mr. Wills.
