Ecology Project
1. Follow directions for loading your camera put in a roll of Tri-X film. This is shared with two partners.
ONLY on this set of projects may you share the negatives to make identical prints for your notebooks.
After this block of projects you will work on your own.
2. Check out of class on the computer after showing your camera to your instructor and asking for permission to leave the room. DO NOT just walk out of class.
3. Find a subject that tells a story about how we effect our environment in a positive or a negative way.
4. Follow the rules of composition and be sure to get close enough to include ONLY important items in the composition.
5. Set the light meter as discussed in class by adjusting the shutter to 500 and adjusting the aperture until the meter needle is centered.
6. Take the pictures for projects on ecology, building, posed, candid and composition rule on this one field trip. Take your time and be careful with your exposure. RECORD your exposure on an exposure log to put in your notebook.
7. Process the film and show it to your instructor. Select the best frame to print and make a 4x5 print or a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 print for your notebook. Follow the directions given in class. It is similar to the process of making a shadow gram.
