Building Assignment

Every building has its own character or feeling that it gives you as you enter it or look at it. Like a real person, you need to look at it closely to capture the interesting details. Find a building and photograph  PART of it so that you express that character. This part might be a door, stair, window, crack in a wall. Try to use an unusual camera angle for this. You will need to watch your composition on this one....be sure to only put important things in the frame.

As in all of your other assitnments - be sure to set your shutter to 500 or 1000 depending on the light level and then adjust the aperture to center the light meter. This will make it easier to avoid camera shake from a low shutter speed.

Architecture - Building Character

Look closely at things....this is a lock on the fence near the photoshop. It really captures the old, dusty, spider web feel of the shop area at school. You can usually tell more of a story about something by getting CLOSE and showing only a portion of the subject like this.  Movie producers do this all the time in giving us just a glimpse of a scene and our mind assumes the rest of the scene is there.
